Third person charged over January home invasion - Burwood

A third person has been charged over an armed home invasion in Burwood earlier this year.

About 1.30pm on Monday 20 January 2020, a group of men –armed with a firearm, knife, electronic stun device and a hammer – allegedly entered a home on Brooklyn Street, Burwood, and demanded money.

The group allegedly restrained then assaulted two men, aged 33 and 59, while they searched the property, taking cash before leaving.

Following inquiries, at 9am yesterday (Wednesday 2 September 2020), an 18-year-old man was arrested at Ennis Place, Lalor Park and taken to Blacktown Police Station.

He was charged with robbery in company armed with a dangerous weapon and take/detain in company for advantage.

He was granted conditional bail to appear a children's court on Wednesday 9 September 2020.

Two men – aged 19 and 21 – were charged on Thursday 9 April 2020 and remain before the courts.
