Police investigating two indecent assaults on women on The Bay Run in Sydney’s Inner West, have received a report of a third incident, NSW Police say.
A man has told police he was walking a dog near Glover Street Sports ground, Lilyfield, which adjoins The Bay Run, about 6.20pm (Saturday 17 February 2018), when he was approached by a woman who disclosed she’d been indecently assaulted. The woman then left the scene.
The man reported the incident to police from Leichhardt PAC and inquiries were initiated but the suspected victim has not contacted police.
Based on information provided, investigators now believe this may be a third incident involving the same man.
On Wednesday 31January 2018, a man approached a woman on Glover Street, Lilyfield, and exposed himself, and on Friday 2 February 2018, a woman reported she’d been intimidated by a man who approached her while she was on The Bay Run near the Leichhardt Rowing Club.
Both incidents were reported to police and a public appeal was issued earlier this month for assistance; however, no arrests have been made.
Police are now keen to speak with the woman from yesterday’s incident, as well as any other women who may have been approached or assaulted near or on The Bay Run area.
Police have a description of a man they believe can assist with their inquiries. The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged between 20 to 30, about 180cm tall, with short, cropped hair and brown eyes.
Police have been told the man has prominent front teeth, and tattoos on his right shoulder and forearm.
Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
