Our City of PAE trainee program has grown in 2021 as we welcome 13 new young people who will be joining us for the year to undertake this intensive on-the-job education. For the first time ever, we have trainees across all areas of the organisation, from outside in the field doing horticulture and construction, to office-based project management, customer service, and admin.
This program provides ongoing training, development and networking opportunities for young people to greatly enhance their skills before they enter the job market. It is also a fantastic opportunity for our staff to gain experience in mentoring and coaching through their involvement in the program.
We are committed to building a city with opportunities for young people as they are our future. We are working with Maxima and our PAE Youth Team, to provide better opportunities for young people to help address youth unemployment, made worse by the pandemic.
