Thomastown armed robbery

Detectives from the Serious Crime Task Force at Mill Park are appealing for assistance from the public following an armed robbery and stabbing which occurred in Thomastown in May.

Investigators have been told two men attended a small supermarket in Thomastown about 7.35pm on 28 May.

One of the men entered the store and asked the attendant for cigarettes.

As the attendant retrieved the items it is alleged the man jumped the counter and started punching the 60-year-old attendant and stabbing him with a small edged weapon.

A 32-year-old man, who also works at the store, came to the aid of the 60-year-old but was chased to the back of the store and stabbed in the arm.

Both offenders then ran from the scene.

The victims were taken to hospital for treatment for their injuries.

Investigators have released CCTV footage and images of two men they believe may be able to assist with their enquires.
