Three Arrested After Broadmeadows Affray, Stabbing

Fawkner Divisional Response Unit officers have arrested three men following an alleged affray and stabbing in Broadmeadows last month.

Emergency services were called to Central Grove, Broadmeadows after a boy was located with a stab wound about 5pm on Friday 24 October.

It is alleged his injuries were as a result of a brawl between two groups on Stanhope Street moments earlier.

The 17-year-old man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police today executed search warrants at properties in Westmeadows, Meadow Heights and Fawkner.

A 19-year-old Westmeadows man, 18-year-old Meadow Heights man and 18-year-old Fawkner man were arrested.

Ammunition was also seized from the Westmeadows address.

The Westmeadows man has been charged with affray, possess prohibited weapon, possess firearm ammunition without a licence and commit an indictable offence whilst on bail.

The Meadow Heights man has been charged with affray and possess controlled weapon without excuse.

The Fawkner man has been charged with affray.

They will appear before the Melbourne Bail and Remand Centre this afternoon.
