Three arrested and charges laid after pursuit at Blacktown

Three have been arrested with charges laid following a pursuit in Sydney's west yesterday.

About 9.30am (Thursday 27 June 2019), police initiated a pursuit with a Ford utility travelling on Lock Street, Blacktown, after it failed to stop when directed for the purpose of a random breath test.

The pursuit ended a short time later on Newhaven Street when the Ford crashed into a parked vehicle.

Two passengers – a 16-year-old boy and 56-year-old man – were arrested outside the vehicle after attempting to flee.

The driver fled the vehicle on foot, before being arrested after falling over a gate. He was taken to Westmead Hospital to be treated for lacerations to his head and serious spinal injuries.

During a search of the vehicle, police located cannabis and drug paraphernalia.

The 16-year-old boy was taken to Blacktown Police Station and charged with passenger fail/refuse to disclose his identity, and destroy or damage property. It will be alleged he damaged property while in custody at Blacktown Police Station.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at a children's court on Friday 26 July 2019.

The 56-year-old man was issued a Field Court Attendance Notice for the offences of possessing a drug and a knife, and is set to appear before Blacktown Local Court on Thursday 1 August 2019.
