Three Assaulted In Gouger Street

A man has been arrested after allegedly assaulting three people in separate incidents in Gouger Street last night.

Just after 7.30pm on Thursday 23 April, a man walked into a hotel in Gouger Street, Adelaide and assaulted a security guard. The security guard sustained minor injuries to his face.

The suspect then left the hotel and assaulted a woman in the middle of the street. Police believe the woman was known to the man.

Eastern District Police quickly responded and chased the suspect into a nearby food court where he was arrested.

Police believe the same suspect was involved in an assault about an hour earlier where he allegedly punched a man in the face while walking along Gouger Street.

A 38-year-old man from Largs Bay was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, breach of intervention order and one count of assault. He was refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court later today.

Police believe there were many people in Gouger Street at the time who witnessed the assault and would like to hear from anyone who captured mobile phone vision of the incident.
