Three Boys Charged After Assault, Robbery In Sydney CBD

Three boys have been charged after another youth was allegedly assaulted and robbed in the city overnight.

Officers attached to Sydney City Police Area Command were called to Hickson Road at Barangaroo after a 17-year-old male reported he'd been punched and kicked by three boys shortly before 1am (Saturday 31 May 2025). His shoes, bag and backpack were allegedly stolen.

He was taken to St Vincent's Hospital and treated for bruising and abrasions.

Police conducting inquiries under Operation Next Gen tracked three boys from Barangaroo to St Marys Train Station where they were arrested by officers attached to Nepean Police Area Command. Police will allege they still carried the stolen items.

A 14-year-old boy and two aged 15 were taken to St Marys Police Station where detectives attached to Sydney City PAC charged each with robbery armed with offensive weapon.

All were refused bail to appear in a children's court today.

Operation Next Gen is a proactive strategy initiated by Sydney City PAC targeting youth-related crime within the CBD.
