Three people have been charged after a pistol, drugs and cash were seized during a vehicle stop in Sydney's north-west.
About 6.20pm yesterday (Saturday 14 March 2025), officers attached to Mount Druitt Police Area Command were conducting high visibility patrols when they stopped a Holden sedan on Luxford Road, Shalvey.
Officers spoke with the driver – a 37-year-old woman – before she was subject to a roadside drug test, which returned a negative result.
Checks revealed she was disqualified from driving.
A subsequent vehicle search was conducted with police allegedly locating and seizing a pistol, extendable baton, cannabis, scales, buprenorphine tablets, and $1,750 cash.
A 40-year-old male passenger was arrested and taken to Mount Druitt Police Station.
The man was charged with:
- Possess unauthorised pistol
- Not keep firearm safely-pistol
- Acquire etc pistol-subject to firearms prohibition order
- Goods suspected stolen in/on premises (not motor vehicle)
- Possess prohibited drug and,
- Breach of bail
He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 6 today (Sunday 15 March 2026).
The 37-year-old driver was issued a Court Attendance Notice charged with drive motor vehicle during disqualification period and possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit.
She is set to appear before Mount Druitt Local Court on Monday 30 March 2026.
A 32-year-old woman who attended the scene was issued a Court Attendance Notice charged with possess prohibited drug.
She is set to appear before Mount Druitt Local Court on Wednesday 1 April 2026.
