Three Charged for Fraudulent Pink Slips in Castle Hill

Highway Patrol investigators have charged three men over their alleged involvement in issuing fraudulent 'pink slips' for vehicles without airbags, working brakes and other serious defects at a Castle Hill dealership.

On Tuesday 13 May 2025, officers attached to North West Traffic and Highway Patrol – with assistance from Transport for NSW – commenced an investigation into fraudulent safety inspection reports 'pink slips' being supplied in Sydney's northwest.

The investigation was commenced after police became aware of two heavily modified vehicles – a Nissan 200SX sedan and Nissan 180SX sedan – in Seven Hills as part of an unrelated investigation.

Inquiries revealed the two cars were allegedly granted 'pink slips' following safety inspections conducted by a Castle Hill dealership in April 2025 despite the vehicles possessing major defects including not containing airbags, removal of anti-lock braking systems and suspension that did not meet minimum safety standards and having dangerous frontal protrusions.

Following further inquiries, police charged three men – aged 39, 40 and 42-years-old – with knowingly produce false/misleading document state law and breach condition of examiners authority.

The two older men were also charged with issue false or misleading inspection report.

All three were issued court attendance notices to appear before Parramatta Local Court on Wednesday 30 July 2025.

Police will allege in court the men – who worked at a Castle Hill car dealership – issued 22 fraudulent safety inspection reports between January 2025 and May 2025.
