Three men will face court charged following an alleged kidnapping attempt in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs early this month.
Police were called to Salisbury Road, Rose Bay, about 10.30pm on Friday 1 May 2026, following reports a man had been held at gunpoint.
Officers attached to Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command attended and were told a 34-year-old man was allegedly threatened and assaulted by three men who held him before two pistols were produced and pointed towards him.
After the man escaped, the three men left the scene in a hatchback.
The man suffered minor injuries but did not have medical treatment.
A crime scene was established and investigations by detectives commenced under Strike Force Paxel.
Following extensive inquiries, detectives – with the assistance of the Tactical Operations Unit, Traffic and Highway Patrol, Dog Unit and the Negotiators Unit – executed a search warrant about 6am yesterday (Wednesday 13 May 2026), at a home on Jordan Street, Fairfield West.
Two men – aged 26 and 28 – were arrested at the scene and taken to Cabramatta Police Station.
During the search, police allegedly seized a balaclava, cable ties, cocaine, MDMA, cannabis, bleach and clothing alleged to be linked to the incident.
Simultaneously, Eastern Suburbs Police – along with officers from Nepean Police Area Command and tactical and specialty units – executed a second warrant at a hotel on Great Western Highway, Colyton, and arrested a 34-year-old man wanted on an outstanding warrant. He was taken to St Marys Police Station.
When the hotel room was searched, police seized a balaclava, cable ties, bleach and clothing alleged to be linked to the incident.
The 26-year-old man was charged with 12 offences:
- Robbery while armed with dangerous weapon
- Assault with intent to rob in company
- Take/detain person in company with intent obtain advantage
- Possess unregistered unauthorised pistol in public place
- Affray
- Common assault
- Stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (personal)
- Take part supply prohibited drug greater indictable and less than commercial quantity (two counts) and,
- Possess prohibited drug (three counts).
Two men – aged 28 and 34 – were each charged with seven offences:
- Robbery while armed with dangerous weapon
- Assault with intent to rob in company
- Take/detain person in company with intent obtain advantage
- Possess unregistered unauthorised pistol in public place
- Affray
- Common assault and,
- Stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (personal)
The older man was charged with the additional offence of take part supply prohibited drug greater than large commercial.
All three were refused bail; the two younger men are due to appear before Fairfield Local Court today (Thursday 14 May 2026), with the older man to appear before Penrith Local Court today as well.
