Three charged over alleged armed robbery offences in Sydney's west

Three people have been charged over two alleged separate armed robberies in Sydney’s west earlier this year, NSW Police say.

About 1.15am on 16 January 2016, an armed man wearing a mask and accompanied by a woman, entered the service station on Century Circuit, Bella Vista.

The pair allegedly threatened the console operator and demanded money.

The male employee opened the till and handed over cash. The pair allegedly fled the scene, and no one was injured.

The second alleged robbery occurred about 1.45am on 16 January 2016, when a male employee was working alone in a bakery on Hewitt Street, Colyton.

It will be alleged two men, one armed with a firearm and the other with a knife, entered the bakery and demanded money. The employee complied, handing over cash.

One of the armed men alleged assaulted the employee, before the pair fled the scene.

The employee suffered minor injuries and did not require treatment.

Following ongoing investigations, during April and May 2016, police from the Metropolitan Robbery Unit arrested and charged two men and a woman over the alleged incidents.

They were all charged with two counts of armed robbery with an offensive weapon.

A 27-year-old man has been bail refused to appear at Burwood Local Court on 4 May 2016.

A 29-year-old man has been bail refused to appear at Orange Local Court on 9 May 2016.

A 23 -year-old woman has been bail refused to appear at Penrith Local Court on 24 June 2016.
