Three Charged Over Burglaries At Devonport Airport Carpark, TAS

Police have charged three people with 72 offences, the majority relating to burglary and damage to cars at the Devonport Airport Carpark overnight on 14-15 March, Tasmania Police say.

The charges included 32 burglaries, 18 stealing, 1 aggravated burglary, 9 computer related frauds, 5 motor vehicle stealing, 4 attempted motor vehicle stealing and 3 attempted burglaries.

The 19 year-old woman from Burnie, 19-year-old man of no fixed abode, and 21-year-old man from Ulverstone appeared in an after-hours court sitting on Saturday 18 March and were remanded in custody to re-appear on 20 March at 2:15pm.

The woman and two men were arrested on 17 March after the vehicle they were driving was intercepted near Hadspen using road spikes with assistance from the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.

Police reiterate the importance of not leaving valuable items or spare keys in unattended vehicles.
