Three in custody after northern suburbs pursuit, South Australia

Three passengers in a stolen car have been arrested following a pursuit at Dry Creek early this morning.

Just before 12.45am, Tuesday 9 June, police were patrolling Cavan Road when they spotted a stolen car ahead of them. The patrol attempted to stop the car but the driver refused to stop. The Magna was pursued along Cavan Road for a short distance before turning onto Port Wakefield Road and then Waterloo Corner Road where it turned into back streets.

Patrols lost sight of the car for a short time before spotting it again on Diment Road. Spikes were deployed successfully on Waterloo Corner Road, Burton. The car came to a stop a short time later, the male driver ran from the car. Three women remain in the car where they were arrested.

Cordons were set up around the area and a dog patrol was called in but the driver was not located.

The car had been stolen from a house in Elizabeth East about 11pm, last night (Monday 8 June).

The three woman aged 25, 26 and 33 from Elizabeth East, Elizabeth South and Blair Athol were charged with failing to truly answer and illegal use of a motor vehicle. The women aged 25 and 33 were bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on 26 June. The 26-year-old woman was remanded in custody and will appear in court today.

Police are following positive lines of inquiry to locate the driver.
