Three injured in serious crash, NSW

Police from the Mid North Coast and Hunter Crash Investigation Unit are investigating a serious crash in Port Macquarie yesterday, NSW Police say.

Emergency services were called to the Pacific Highway, 6km south of the Oxley Highway intersection at Thrumster, near Port Macquarie about 2pm yesterday, following reports a Mitsubishi Challenger and a Ford Fiesta had collided.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the driver of the Mitsubishi, a 44-year-old man, at the scene, along with his passenger, a man aged 79.

The 44-year-old man sustained a possible fracture to his shoulder, his passenger, a 79-year-old man, sustained suspected spinal injuries. Both men were taken to Port Macquarie Base Hospital where they remain in a stable condition.

The 17-year-old woman driving the Ford, sustained a serious compound fracture to her femur. She was taken to Port Macquarie Base Hospital and has since undergone surgery where she remains in a serious but stable condition.

Officers from the Crash Investigation Unit attended and commenced investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Police are urging anyone with information in relation to this incident to call Crime Stoppers.
