Three teen girls charged after attempted carjacking, robbery - Pennant Hills

Three teenage girls will face court today charged over an attempted carjacking and robbery in Sydney's north-west overnight.

About 10.30pm (Tuesday 16 February 2021), a 22-year-old man was in his vehicle with three teenage girls on Railway Street, Pennant Hills.

Police have been told one of the girls threatened the man with a pair of scissors and demanded his car keys and wallet, before he ran away and notified police.

Officers from Ryde Police Area Command attended a short time later and arrested a 16-year-old girl who was still in the vehicle.

Following a short foot pursuit, police, assisted by the Dog Unit, arrested two 15-year-old girls near a car dealership on Pennant Hills Road.

The teens were all taken to Ryde Police Station and charged with aggravated assault with intent to take/drive motor vehicle in company, and robbery in company.

One of the 15-year-old girls was also charged with breach of bail.

They were refused bail to appear in Surry Hills Children's Court today (Wednesday 17 February 2021).

The man, who was known to one of the girls, was not injured during the incident.
