Three teens charged after assault in Warialda

Three teenage boys have been charged after an alleged assault in Warialda, in the states far north, NSW Police say.

About 6pm (13 August 2017), a 37-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman were at their home on Hope Street, Warialda, when they were confronted by the teens.

The man was then allegedly assaulted, before the group fled the area.

It’s alleged the trio then returned to the address a short time later and confronted the couple again, armed with weapons.

During the incident, a vehicle sustained damage and a window at the home was broken.

The woman was not injured.

A short time later, two of the teenagers presented at Warialda Hospital with serious lacerations.

Police attached to Barwon Local Area Command were then notified and attended.

Following treatment the pair, aged 17, were arrested and taken to Moree Police Station.

They were both charged with aggravated enter dwelling, assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company, and destroy/damage property; whilst one of the teens was also charged with being armed with intent.

Following ongoing inquiries, a third teenager was arrested yesterday.

He was taken to Moree Police Station where he was charged with aggravated enter dwelling, assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company, and being armed with intent.

All three teens are due to face a Children’s Court on 25 September 2017.
