Three Teens Charged Over Moree Break-Ins, Theft: NSW Police

Three teenagers will face court today following an investigation into multiple aggravated break, enter and steal offences in Moree last week.

About 1.30am on Wednesday (3 January 2024), three males forced entry into a home on Edward Street, Moree and allegedly stole car keys and a Mitsubishi Triton utility.

A short time later, the males forced entry into a motel room on Boggabilla Road, Moree, demanding car keys, before they fled with a woman's handbag and car keys to an Audi. The car was not taken.

The group also forced entry into another room, armed with a knife demanding car keys. The group fled the location in the occupants Holden Commodore and the Triton stolen earlier that evening.

No one was injured.

The Triton was located about 8pm on Wednesday (3 January 2024) on Tycannah Street, Moree. It was seized for forensic examination.

Following inquiries, about 1pm on Wednesday (3 January 2024), officers attached to New England Police District attended a home in Moree and arrested two boys – aged 15.

The pair were taken to Moree Police Station and charged with aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence, two counts of take and drive conveyance without consent of owner, two counts of aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence-armed and, demand property by force in company with intent to steal.

Following further inquiries, about 9.40am yesterday (Monday 8 January 2024), a 15-year-old boy attended Wyong Police Station, where he was arrested.

He was charged with aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence, two counts of take and drive conveyance without consent of owner, two counts of aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence-armed and, demand property by force in company with intent to steal.

Two teens were refused bail to appear at a children's court today (Tuesday 9 January 2024).

The other teen was given conditional bail to appear at a children's court on Monday 22 January 2024.
