Three Times Over In Wodonga

A 49-year-old man has been caught allegedly three times over the limit in Wodonga last night.

Police initially observed the man, who was driving a maroon Ford Falcon, driving south on the Lincoln Causeway about 6.50pm.

After intercepting the Ford, the Wodonga man underwent a preliminary breath test, before accompanying members to a nearby station where he returned an alleged evidentiary result of .179.

The man had his car impounded for 30 days at a cost of $1115, and had his licence immediately suspended.

He is expected to be charged on summons with traffic offences.

This intercept forms part of Operation Nexus. A statewide road policing operation targeting impaired driving, speed, distraction, fatigue and seatbelt non-compliance in metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria, in an effort to drive down road trauma.

Police could be anywhere, anytime this Easter. Operation Nexus runs until 11:59pm Monday 1 April 2024.
