Three Women Charged Over Swansea Social Media Brawl

Police have charged three women for their alleged involvement in a prearranged brawl for social media in Swansea.

About 10.30pm on Friday 2 February 2024, police were called to a fast-food outlet on the Old Pacific Highway, Swansea, following reports of an affray.

Police from Lake Macquarie Police District arrived at the location; however, all parties involved had allegedly fled the scene.

After speaking with witnesses, police determined that three women had allegedly met at the location for the purpose of a pre-arranged fight, which was streamed on a social media platform.

Police received copies of the footage and initiated an investigation into the incident.

Following an extensive investigation police have charged three women, aged 31, 18 and 29-years-old, with affray.

They were all issued future court attendance notices to appear before Belmont Local Court with the 31-year-old woman appearing on Wednesday 6 March 2024, the 18-year-old woman appearing on Wednesday 13 March 2024 and the 29-year-old woman appearing on Wednesday 3 April 2024.
