Three Wyndham Intersections Get Green Light 27 September

Wyndham City has given three intersections the green light.

The $2.4 million Traffic Signals Project is nearing completion with the activation of traffic lights at the Greens Road and Haines Drive intersection in Wyndham Vale, and the Dunnings Road and Lennon Boulevard intersection and Miles Franklin Boulevard and Boardwalk Boulevard intersection in Point Cook.

Public lighting at the Greens Road and Haines Drive intersection and the Miles Franklin Boulevard and Boardwalk Boulevard intersection is awaiting activation by Powercor and the Department of Transport, and is anticipated in coming weeks.

Wyndham City's City Design portfolio holder Cr Josh Gilligan said the traffic lights would make the journey safer for drivers and pedestrians using these intersections.

"As our population grows, improving safety and traffic movement is one of the most important issues facing our community," Cr Gilligan said.

"This important project enhances safety for all road users at these busy intersections, especially schoolchildren crossing the road to get to one of the nearby schools."

"The traffic lights will also reduce traffic congestion during peak times, helping drivers and pedestrians get to their destination sooner."

This Wyndham City project forms part of a $32.3 million spend to upgrade and maintain Wyndham's road network over 2022/23.
