Three youths arrested in Narre Warren as part of Operation Tidal

Casey Crime Investigation Unit detectives arrested three youths for alleged attempted armed robberies in Narre Warren as part of Operation Tidal last week.

It is alleged the teens, two 15-year-olds both from Narre Warren and one 16-year-old from Hampton Park, approached two victims, aged 14 and 15 from Narre Warren near Overland Drive about 1.35pm on 6 September.

One produced a knife and stole a hat from one of the victims before all three left the scene on foot.

The group then allegedly approached another victim, aged 18-years-old from Hallam, about 1.45pm and again one produced a knife.

The group made demands for the victim's phone and wallet but left the scene empty handed.

The victims were not physically injured during either incident.

One of the victims called police who attended and arrested the three at the scene without incident about 2pm.

The three will appear before a children's court at a later date.

This arrest is part of Operation Tidal which utilises a highly visible police presence across the Casey, Greater Dandenong and Cardinia Police Service Areas (PSAs).

Tidal is an ongoing operation and police will continue to focus resources where they're most needed.
