Thrice is not so nice

A Seville man is likely to find himself in a spot of bother after driving at almost triple the speed limit in Wandin North last night, Victoria Police say.

Yarra Ranges Highway Patrol officers detected a Ford utility travelling east on Hunter Road at 179km/h in the 60km/h speed zone about 6.30pm.

As police indicated to the driver to stop, the vehicle sped off.

The highway patrol members paid the driver, a 21-year-old P plater, a visit at his home soon after.

He is expected to be charged on summons at a later date with speed dangerous, evade police, exceeding the speed limit and other traffic offences.

It is also expected that police will impound the man’s car at a later date.
