The Timboon Sporting Centre has made a big change to support health and wellbeing in Corangamite Shire.

Members now have 24/7 access to the gym, so they can train any time, day or night.

Mayor Kate Makin said she was really excited to announce the round-the-clock access.

"I have been championing this for about five years and it's great that it's finally happened," Cr Makin said.

"All registered members can enter at any time using a secure fob system.

"This change is designed to fit the busy lives of local residents, including shift workers, farmers, and families.

"We know fitness doesn't stop at 8pm. By opening our doors all day, every day, we're helping people put their health first when it suits them."

To keep members safe, the centre is adding extra security. This includes fob access, duress alarms, better lighting, and CCTV cameras.

Staff will still be available during normal hours, and after-hours access arrangements will be shown to gym members during the induction process.

"This move follows a growing trend in the fitness industry to make gyms more accessible. It also shows our commitment to inclusivity and community health," Cr Makin said.

"With 24/7 access, we hope more people will join in and enjoy an active lifestyle.

"To become a gym member, call 5598 3445 or drop in at 11 Hamilton Street during staffed hours: Monday-Wednesday, 9 am–12 pm and 4–8 pm and Thursday & Friday, 4–8 pm."

The Timboon Sporting Centre remains a hub for indoor sports, fitness programs, and community events.
