Timer's guide to March Charge

Cancer Council NSW

We are only two weeks away from The March Charge, our fun month-long fitness challenge that has an enormous impact on how cancer is researched and treated.

Just by walking or running for Cancer Council this March, and raising funds, you'll be helping us Charge ahead with cancer research.

It's not too late to sign up, and if it's your first time, we've got you covered with our simple guide to The March Charge.

1. Register your Charge

Jump online to our website to register for free. You can sign up on your own, or as part of a team or workplace.

2. Pick your Charge

You can choose what your challenge will be for the month. Walk, run or do your favourite type of exercise - it's up to you.

Choose a goal that works for your fitness level yet will also be challenging to do over a month.

For those who are planning to walk or run, here are our suggestions:

  • Beginner Charger – 50km
  • Intermediate Charger – 85km
  • Elite Charger – 120km

Remember, you can always change your goal if you feel you have aimed too high or too low.

3. Promote your Charge

When you register, you will get a fundraising page that you can personalise. You can say why you're doing The March Charge and update your progress over the month.

Share the page on your social media networks so family and friends can stay up to date and support you.

We've also got downloadable resources to help you spread the word.

4. Track your Charge

We've linked up with Strava, Fitbit and MapMyFitness to help you track your progress quickly and easily.

Each time you record an activity, it automatically syncs with your fundraising page and is added to your total kilometres achieved. This may take up to 24 hours.

If you're not connected to Strava, Fitbit or MapMyFitness yet, download one of these apps to your smartphone, connect your GPS-enabled fitness device, and you're all set to go.
