Portsea may be one of the Mornington Peninsula's smallest villages, but it's claimed one of Australia's biggest tourism honours.

The coastal destination has been crowned Australia's Top Tiny Tourism Town, earning national recognition for the experiences, hospitality and sense of place that keep visitors coming back year after year.

From breathtaking clifftop views and rich heritage to cosy cafés, local shops and a distinctive village atmosphere, Portsea has long been a favourite destination for locals and visitors alike. Now, the rest of Australia agrees.

While the award celebrates the destination, it's really a story about the people behind it.

Local businesses, volunteers, community groups and residents all played a role in showcasing what makes Portsea unique. Their passion, pride and warm welcome helped put the town on the national stage and secure the top honour.

As you'll see in the video, Portsea's charm isn't just found in its stunning scenery. It's found in the people who greet visitors, share local stories, run family businesses and help create memorable experiences every day.

With around eight million visitors welcomed to the Peninsula each year, the recognition is another reminder of the important role tourism plays in supporting local businesses, jobs and communities.

For now, though, it's time for Portsea to enjoy a well-deserved moment in the spotlight.

Congratulations to everyone who helped make Portsea Australia's Top Tiny Tourism Town.
