Tobacco Store Targeted Twice In Two Days

A tobacco store in Northcote has been extensively damaged after a vehicle was rammed into the shop front for a second time in two days, overnight.

Police were called to the High Street scene following reports of the damage late Tuesday night about 11.45pm.

The vehicle involved, a red Toyota Corolla which has been confirmed stolen, appears to have been reversed at speed into the shop, coming to rest inside the store.

Two offenders wearing dark clothing were captured on CCTV leaving the scene on foot, north on High Street.

Last night's incident was the second time the store has been targeted after another vehicle was rammed into the shopfront in the early hours of Monday morning about 2am.

Nothing was stolen on Monday and the offenders fled before police arrived.

Darebin Crime Investigation Unit are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incidents.
