Our Monash Carols by Candlelight at Jells Park is a highly anticipated event that attracts around 25,000 people each year. This year – the 32nd year of our carols - the way we come together to celebrate will be different.
On Sunday, 20 December at 7pm our Carols will be presented online with MC Pete Smith who is a mainstay of this annual event. Our amazing lineup of artists are Belinda Parsons, the Amore Duet (featuring Stephen Coutts and Samantha Robertson), Richard Thomas, rising star Annie Jones (seen on America's Got Talent) and the Oakleigh Primary School Choir who will be performing a special Auslan version of some of your Christmas favourites.
Your little ones will love children's entertainer Bethany Fisher who will also make an appearance with her dancers.
These stars will be joined by the Monash Carols by Candlelight Band - a special group of musicians brought together by Musical Director Bob Moody.
Of course, our Carols would not be complete without a visit from Santa and this year is no exception. Santa will be making an appearance and may even sing a song or two!
Mayor Brian Little said that despite the change in how Council delivers this much-loved event, 2020 will be a Christmas people will never forget.
"This year has been tough for our community and as we come out the other side of restrictions we want to make sure we still celebrate our special Monash Carols by Candlelight" Cr Little said.
"We hope that, from home, everyone will feel the magic of this special event."
