Toowoomba artist Aurora Elwell this week unveils her first solo exhibition with a new body of work titled Antibody at the Toowoomba Regional Art Gallery.
The exhibition will be on display from Saturday, February 20 to Sunday, March 21, 2021.
Elwell said her solo exhibition playfully explored themes of being physically disrupted and hurt.
Through wheel-thrown forms and intuitive hand-building processes, Elwell reveals a 'place' where the physical body and subconscious mind meet.
Elwell said by calling on her experience of 'bodily reclamation' and referencing her own body image, she drew on the invisible and inhuman qualities of the human form.
