Top U.S. Defense Official Meets Polish Defense Secretary

On November 20, Assistant Secretary of War for International Security Affairs Daniel Zimmerman co-hosted the High-Level Defense Group with the Polish Secretary of State, Ministry of National Defense, Pawel Zalewski. Assistant Secretary Zimmerman and Minister Zalewski discussed how to advance the bilateral defense relationship and shared commitment to operationalizing NATO's 5% defense spending pledge. Mr. Zimmerman visited U.S. troops and thanked Poland for their outstanding host nation support. Poland continues to demonstrate leadership as a model ally in its pragmatic and grounded approach to deterrence and NATO support, while working with the United States on defense industrial base initiatives and seeking an enduring peace for Ukraine.
