From: The National Battlefields Commission

One tower, three floors and a mystery from the past to solve. Will you measure up? Find out this summer in the escape room offered in a heritage building in Québec. The NBC has partnered with Double Tour - Expériences immersives to create The Tormentor, a game based on historical facts and enigmas to be played in the little known and mysterious halls of the Martello Tower 4. Surprises abound in this unique activity - great for spending time with friends, family or colleagues!

Quick facts

  • Immerse yourself in the early 20th century and the Marcoux family mystery that has existed since the Battle of the Plains of Abraham… Explore the tower with its three floors and revisit history to solve crimes committed by their ancestors. During your quest, you will learn about three eras that marked the history of Québec (1759, 1812 and 1908). The past will clearly be your ally in a matter that forebodes…. torment!

  • Take a chance on winning an "en primeur" entrance to The Tormentor by participating in the draw. Take your picture beside one of the chained towers installed on the Park's fence (corner of Wolfe-Montcalm Avenue/Grande Allée Ouest and beside the Cross of Sacrifice) and at the entrance to the Plains of Abraham Museum. Share your photo before June 29 on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #Tormentor.

  • The Tormentor will be offered in French and English from July 17 to October 13, Wednesdays to Sundays. Time limit to solve the mystery: 90 minutes. Reservation required for groups of 4 to 8 people. $35 / player. Reserved for ages 12 and older. Taxes not included.

  • Information via online reservation or by telephone: 418 649-6157 | 1-855-649-6157.
