Saturday lotto is proudly played across Australia under the brands Gold Lotto, Lotto, TattsLotto and X Lotto, bringing winning moments to players nationwide.
The search is over for Townsville's mystery division one winner after a local couple finally checked their Saturday Gold Lotto ticket and uncovered their life-enhancing $2 million win.
The North Queenslanders held one of the three division one winning entries nationally in Saturday Gold Lotto draw 4673, drawn Saturday 2 May 2026. They look forward to a total prize of $2,139,901.06.
So far this year, North Queensland has enjoyed seven major lottery wins worth more than $8 million.
The winning entry was not registered to The Lott Members Club meaning we had no way of contacting the ticketholders and had to wait for them to check their ticket and come forward.
"It goes without saying - it's great news!" the winning wife exclaimed.
"I checked the winning numbers in the paper yesterday and circled them one by one.
"Then I checked them against The Lott app, and I just couldn't believe it. I had to double-check… then triple-check… then quadruple-check to make sure what I was seeing was real!
"We've been playing Lotto since it first started. The win has been a long time coming!
"We're in complete disbelief that this has happened to us.
"We have beautiful children and grandchildren that we'd love to help out.
"Thank you!"
The winning entry was sold at The Avenues News, 85 Burnda Street, Kirwan.
The Avenues News owner Kaylene Turton said it was the first division one winning entry the outlet had sold during her time there.
"My sister and I have owned the outlet for about three years and during this time we have sold plenty of division two winning entries, but now we've finally hit our first division one win," she said.
"How exciting for the customer that has just won $2.1 million! My god! Life changing!
"Congratulations to our winner. I'm sure we would've told you 'You've got to be in it to win it!' and now you've done it! How lucky!"
