A Townsville local has proven the doubters wrong, landing a life‑enhancing $1 million win in the recent Weekday Windfall draw after refusing to believe a big win was out of reach.
The North Queenslander held one of the two division one winning entries nationally in Weekday Windfall 4680, drawn Monday 23 March 2026.
The gleeful man took a little longer to discover his newly-minted millionaire status after he was too busy at work to answer any phone calls from us.
"It's unbelievable!" he exclaimed.
"I've been waiting a long time to win big! I've been playing for many years.
"I missed your calls on Monday because I was at work but then I checked my ticket and I couldn't believe it.
"A lot of people have told me that it's too hard to win but I've always said that if it's too hard to win than no one would win!
"This is a great help. I can't believe it.
"I can finally fulfil my dream of owning my very own home. I've been renting for years and years. I am so excited!
"I'll also look to help my kids.
"I won't tell anyone yet, just enjoy the winning moment to myself.
"Thank you very much."
His winning System 7 entry was purchased at The Lucky Charm Fairfield, Fairfield Shopping Centre, Shop T15 2-30 Lakeside Drive, Idalia.
