Townsville, multiple charges across weekend

Townsville police have charged 10 people with multiple charges across the weekend following investigations into stolen vehicles.

A Holden Barina was stolen from a Nathan Street, Aitkenvale address on Friday morning about 3.15am, May 5 . The passenger was located and has since been charged with unlawful use of a motor vehicle and burglary of the vehicle, which police will allege attempted to ram their vehicle. The stolen vehicle has been located and investigations are ongoing to locate the driver.

On Saturday morning about 4am, a Mazda BT-50 stolen from Heritage Close, Kirwan rammed an unmarked police vehicle (pictured) on Ross River Road, Cranbrook.

Investigations are ongoing to identify those involved in the theft.

Queensland Police Service, Property Crime Unit (PCU) investigations continue to identify drivers of stolen vehicles and to locate the 13 stolen vehicles currently outstanding in Townsville District

Since Thursday May 4, PCU has arrested 10 offenders on 32 charges.

Investigations are ongoing.
