Toyota Australia recalls hilux vehicles due to second stage compliance label

Toyota Australia has today announced that it will initiate a recall involving 60 HiLux vehicles produced between March 2021 to June 2021.

A Second Stage compliance label is required to be affixed to vehicles upon arrival to Australia in accordance with Australia Design Rule (ADR 61/02). On these involved vehicles, the second stage compliance label contains incorrect information due to an administrative error.

Involved models include:

• 58 x HiLux 4x4 vehicles, produced between March to June 2021

o These affected vehicles show the incorrect Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) of 3000kg instead of 3050kg

• 2 x HiLux 4x2 vehicles produced in May 2021

o These affected vehicles show the incorrect Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) of 3000kg instead of 2980kg

For all involved vehicles, Toyota will replace the second stage compliance label on the vehicle free of charge to vehicle owners.

It is expected that it will take approximately 20 minutes to replace the second stage compliance label. However, depending upon the Dealer's work schedule, it may be necessary for the owner to make the vehicle available for a longer period of time.
