Owners of select Toyota vehicles will be able to enjoy the convenience and functionality of Apple CarPlay®and Android Auto™ with Toyota Australia's roll out of the smartphone mirroring technology now underway.
Over the course of the past month, Toyota has upgraded its multimedia systems for Apple CarPlay®and Android Auto™ compatibility in new model Prius, Corolla hatch, Camry, and the all-new Granvia launched in October.
Toyota Australia Vice President Sales and Marketing, Sean Hanley said the availability of Apple CarPlay®and Android Auto™ will offer customers the ability to access a number of apps on their mobile devices in a safe and convenient way.
"By offering Apple CarPlay®and Android Auto™ compatibility in our vehicles, we are continuing to refine our market offerings and provide our customers with the products and services that enhance their lives," Mr Hanley said.
"The technology will allow our customers to stay informed, entertained and in touch with the wider world from behind the wheel, directly through the vehicles' upgraded multimedia systems," he said.
Existing owners of the all-new HiAce and RAV4 models will be able to upgrade their multimedia systems with Apple CarPlay®and Android Auto™ free of charge from 1 November.
Owners of latest generation Camry, Corolla hatch, and recently upgraded Prius will also be able to upgrade their multimedia system with the new technology at their local Toyota dealership for $199 from 1 November as well.
Toyota's upgraded multimedia system with Apple CarPlay®and Android Auto™ will also be standard on the all-new Corolla sedan and upgraded C-HR that are due on sale in Australia before the end of the year.
Multiple Toyota models will have Apple CarPlay®and Android Auto™ fitted as standard as the models are updated. See below for an applicability table:
