Today the Albanese Government announces the members of a new Trade Diversification Network that will bring government and industry closer together to support Australian exporters to diversify and grow into new markets.
Following a competitive application process, 40 national peak bodies across a broad range of Australian industries have been selected to join the Trade Diversification Network as part of the Albanese Government's $50m, Accessing New Markets Initiative (ANMI).
Building on the work already underway, the Network will work with Government to identify and develop tailored activities such as trade missions, training and showcases to facilitate export diversification, enabling businesses to target and take advantage of emerging opportunities around the world.
The combination of Austrade's global network and the insights and capabilities of peak bodies will ensure Australian businesses are best positioned to take advantage of global growth opportunities and strengthen resilience.
Supporting our exporters delivers wins for all Australians.
32 percent of Australia's economic output is supported by trade, and businesses who export are on average more productive, employ more people, and pay higher wages.
ANMI will help to build the capability needed to support future export growth and trade resilience across a wide range of sectors. This initiative will encourage more businesses to export to more markets, creating new jobs at home and strengthening Australia's economic position.
The establishment of the Network marks the next stage of the Government's ANMI. Since the election, we have delivered five business missions in our first 100 days of being re-elected and supported over fifty strategic initiatives through directly administered ANMI funds to support Australian exporters on the global stage.
