Traffic Crash Appeal, Ashgrove

Police are appealing for witnesses following a two-vehicle traffic crash at Ashgrove on 9 January.

Just before 7.20pm, police allegedly observed a dark blue Mitsubishi Lancer with no plates driving dangerously along Waterworks Road towards The Gap.

Officers attempted to intercept the vehicle however it allegedly accelerated away at speed while police were stopped.

The Lancer then turned around and continued travelling on Waterworks Road before allegedly crashing into a grey Mazda 2 hatchback at the intersection with Oleander Drive.

The 17-year-old male driver of the Lancer was not physically injured and is assisting police with inquiries.

The female driver of the Mazda 2 and a male and female passenger in the Lancer were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The other two occupants of the Lancer were not physically injured.

Police are appealing to anyone with relevant CCTV or dashcam footage or who may have seen the Lancer in the Ashgrove area at the time of the incident to contact police.
