Traffic stop leads to arrest at Lonsdale, SA

A man was arrested after being stopped by police just moments after a business yard theft, according to SA Police.

Police patrolling the Lonsdale area pulled over a vehicle just before 2am on Tuesday 23 October. The patrol noticed suspicious property in the vehicle at the same time as a report came in about a theft from a nearby business premises.

Security guards responding to an alarm activation at a business yard on O'Sullivan Beach Road, Lonsdale reported a man had gained access to the yard and stolen gas bottles.

The driver, a 38-year-old Huntfield Heights man, was arrested and charged with unlawfully on premises, property damage, theft, and going equipped to commit an offence.

He was bailed to appear in the Christies Beach Magistrates Court on 3 December.
