Trail Riders On Roll At Warburton

VIC Premier

Mountain bikers with a need for speed and an appetite for bushland experience can now enjoy the first stage of the new bike trail in the Yarra State Forest following an investment by the Victorian and Commonwealth Governments.

Minister for the Environment Steve Dimopoulos today announced the opening of the first 30 kilometres of trails of the Warburton Bike Park, with an additional 70 kilometres of trails to be delivered by 2027.

  1. The trails are accessible from the main trail head at Wesburn Park, also home to a recently developed Pump Track, and Warburton.
  2. The project is designed for riders of all skill levels from beginner to advanced, across a range of differing terrains, outlooks and environments.

The project led by Yarra Ranges Shire Council and is staged into two parts, with $4.3 million from the Albanese Labor Government and $3 million from the Allan Labor Government's Growing Suburbs Fund.

Input has also been provided by Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Cultural Heritage Aboriginal Corporation, Melbourne Water, and a grant from the Warburton and Yarra Junction Community Bank towards the first stage.

Stage one of the Warburton Bike Park is due to be completed in 2027 and will have terrain and features to suit a variety of riding styles and levels so all Victorians can enjoy.
