Transition to Sole Medicine Ingredient Labelling Underway

Currently some medicines come dual labelled with both the old and new ingredient names displayed.

The intention was to help consumers become familiar with the new names which were selected to bring them in sync with those used internationally.

The dual labelling is now being phased out over time – this commenced on 30 April this year - with manufacturers given three years to update their labels so they show only the new name for these ingredients.
