This week I will travel to the United States to further strengthen our bilateral ties across tourism, investment, and trade.
The focus of the trip will be to promote Australia, and our spectacular tourism offering, at the launch of G'Day USA 2026 in Los Angeles. G'Day USA showcases Australia as a world-class tourism destination, and spotlights Australian excellence in cultural exports, the creative arts, and screen production.
Major sporting events are key opportunities for Australia's tourism industry and our economy. As Australia prepares to take the torch from LA to host the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games, discussions will also focus on how we can collaborate to build momentum, maximise the opportunities, and deliver lasting outcomes for each city.
The flow of tourists between Australia and the US has never been stronger, with a whopping 745,000 Americans making the trip down under and spending $2.25 billion in Australia as of September 2025.
From our magnificent beaches to our famously good produce, our friendly people, and our spectacular scenery, Australia really is the best place to take a holiday, and we look forward to welcoming even more visitors from the US this year.
While in the United States, I will take the opportunity to continue our strong advocacy for free and fair trade between our two countries. I will always press for the best possible outcome for Australian businesses, producers, exporters and workers.
