Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) today (April 15, 2025) endorsed three critical studies which identify water and wastewater infrastructure network upgrades needed to support the Region's future growth.
The studies into the sewerage networks in Pittsworth and Greater Western Toowoomba, and the water supply network in Yarraman, were endorsed at today's Ordinary Meeting of Council.
TRC engineers undertook the investigations to determine which infrastructure projects should be included in the Local Government Infrastructure Plan (LGIP).
This plan helps prioritise infrastructure delivery to support urban development over the next 10 to 15 years.
Across all three catchments, the proposed infrastructure upgrades are estimated to cost approximately $30.5 million over the next 10 years, with projects expected to be incorporated into Council's Capital Works Program.
TRC Deputy Mayor and Strategic Water Planning and Capital Delivery portfolio spokesperson Cr Rebecca Vonhoff said the studies are a crucial step in planning for the Region's long-term growth.
