Toowoomba Regional Council (TRC) today (September 15) announced the 14 community members who will serve on Council's Regional Youth Advisory Committee (RYAC).
The appointment of Allyson Anderson, Kelli Anderson, Donita Bellette, Alicia Channell, Hayley Finnie, Ada Gain, Natasha Hayes, Andrew Hickey, Bomkey 'Volonte' Mbaiornom, Thomas Murphy, Mike Paton, Rojin Rash, Ros Scotney and Ben Yong to RYAC was approved at today's TRC September Ordinary Meeting.
Council in June endorsed TRC Environment and Community Services Committee chair Cr James O'Shea as RYAC chair with Environment and Community Services portfolio leader Cr Tim McMahon as the proxy. TRC Water and Waste Committee chair Cr Rebecca Vonhoff was appointed as an attendee.
Cr O'Shea said the first meeting of the new voluntary advisory committee was expected to be held in October.
He said the advisory committee's role was to represent the interests of young people by providing strategic advice for Council's consideration.
