Treat Mum to Bacchus Mother's Day High Tea

Bacchus

She's been there for every scraped knee, every late-night chat, every triumph and tear, so this Mother's Day, it's time to turn the tables and celebrate your mum, or mum figure,

with an experience as special as she is.

The Bacchus High Tea is famed as special, but the Bacchus Mother's Day High Tea is extra special, a wonderful affair of delicate pastries and savouries, with service that will make mum sit back and smile. From the very first sip of tea (or a well-deserved glass of bubbles) to the final bite of a handcrafted delight, every detail is designed to make mum feel cherished - she's spent a lifetime putting you first, now, it's your turn.

This year, Bacchus is stretching the celebrations over two fabulous days - because one day simply isn't enough to celebrate mum.

Beautifully presented on tiered High Tea plates, the sweet bites include fluffy black cocoa scones with jam and cream, the delicate tang of Framboise Pistachio and rich the indulgence of Gianduja Cappuccino, to the whimsy of assorted macarons and blissful Berry Delights. On the savoury side, it's a gourmet garden of flavours:, there's a nostalgic Curry Egg Sandwich with a tropical twist, the Squid Ink Salami Tart layered with fig jam and buffalo curd, the ever-classic Smoked Chicken Sandwich, a delicious Crab Slider topped with caviar, and a punchy Potato Veggie Ball seasoned Cajun-style.

What's even better, there's a glass of Mumm on arrival, the famous Bacchus array of Harney & Sons fine teas, barista coffee, and of course you can upgrade and enjoy Endless Mumm. On Sunday, experience unforgettable acoustic sets by award-winning live-looping artist Alisha Todd.

Vegans and those with specific dietary needs can relax, the Bacchus team is more than happy to accommodate dietary requirements at no additional cost.

How did High Tea come to be?

In the mid-19th Century, Anna Russell the 7th Duchess of Bedford in the UK experienced something many of us feel during the late afternoon – 'that sinking feeling'. Her solution? A lovely pot of tea and nibbling on some cakes and sandwiches with her close companions. Soon other social hostesses realised it was a wonderful way to enjoy the company of their loved ones (whilst also eating the most delightful, sweet creations) and so the English High Tea was born! Fast-forward 150 years and that time-honored tradition has come full circle.
