Trees For Mum 2026: Bayside

Held annually, Bayside Council's Trees for Mum event invites residents to celebrate their mum, or a special mother figure, by planting a native tree

This is a great way to acknowledge a father figure or serve as a living memorial for fathers who have passed, while helping to increase Bayside's tree canopy.

The event will take place on Saturday 9 May from 9am to 1pm, meeting next to the dog park at Sir Joseph Banks Park.

This is a free event, but registration is essential.

Planting equipment will be provided, and Council staff will be on hand to assist with the planting. Remember to wear suitable clothing, closed-toe shoes, a hat and sunscreen.

As part of the event, Bayside Council will host an Upcycled Plant Pots activity, helping you to reuse everyday items by turning them into plant pots. Participants can bring along a reusable item that can hold approximately one litre of soil. Old watering cans, boots, colanders, baking dishes or old buckets will work well.

Please ensure all containers have drainage holes before arriving, as tools will not be available during the day.
