Trevallyn Power Station opens its doors

An important piece of Tasmania’s hydro heritage built in the 1950’s is being showcased today with the Trevallyn Power Station holding an Open Day.

The station releases up to 30 cubic metres of water per second, which is the equivalent of an Olympic swimming pool every minute and a half.

The Trevallyn power station is a great example of Tasmania’s hydro assets and our renewable energy advantage.

The Hodgman Liberal Government has a goal for Tasmania to be fully self-sufficient in renewable energy by 2022 and to have the lowest regulated prices in the country.

It is just another way we are working hard to improve the lives of all Tasmanians.
