People with Disability Australia (PWDA) announces with sadness the resignation of our President, Trinity Ford, effective from 21 October 2025, 6:00pm AEDT.
Trinity was elected to the PWDA Board in November 2024 and appointed President in January 2025. During her time as President, Trinity put her career and professional commitments on hold to lead the organisation. Throughout her leadership, Trinity has worked closely with our members and community. She has represented them both nationally and internationally to promote and advance the rights of people with disability.
Following Trinity's resignation, the PWDA Board will commence the process of the appointment of an Interim President to serve until the 2025 PWDA Annual General Meeting (AGM) being held on Thursday 13 November 2025. Following the AGM, the Board will elect its new President and Executive Officers.
The PWDA Board extends its sincere gratitude to Trinity for her tireless advocacy, leadership, and contribution to PWDA and the broader disability rights movement. On behalf of our members, staff, and community, we thank Trinity for her service as President.

A message from Trinity Ford
Dear PWDA members, staff and community.
Thank you for all your hard work and commitment to our organisation's mission over the past year. It has been a real privilege to work for you all in this role, through a period of real growth for PWDA: from building tactical relationships across the sector and politics, to the major works of our Strategic Projects and Training team.
As we approach the end of this Board's term and the appointment of our next Board, I am preparing to hand over the role of President. Many of you know that I am a training lawyer and disability advocate. It was a natural decision to put my career on the backburner when I was asked to lead this Board, though I could only commit to a single term. Now looking at the talent on this current Board, and in our pool of nominees, I step down as President with relief and excitement for what is to come for PWDA.
I will be stepping down next week. I have brought forward my resignation by a month as I am shortly leaving for an overseas trip through to November. This transition has been carefully planned to ensure uninterrupted leadership through to our upcoming AGM on 13 November 2025.
Thank you to my Co-Vice President Daniel Flynn for acting in my role over the last few weeks, which has allowed me to wind down my work and focus on some health and family matters. I give warm thanks to all my colleagues on the Board and wish everyone continuing or joining the next Board the very best.
I'll leave you with my usual call to action. We're only as strong as we are united on what matters: the fight for our collective liberation.
