Trio arrested after driving a stolen car into a ditch in Dandenong

Three teenagers have been arrested after they drove a stolen car into a ditch in Dandenong on Sunday 19 April.

The stolen car was first seen by detectives in Cranbourne about 11.50am.

Officers attempted to speak to the driver before the vehicle sped off from police.

Police on the ground sighted the vehicle a short time later in Dandenong South.

The police Airwing then assisted police on the ground as the car travelled through the southern suburbs.

Police deployed stop sticks to slow the car down.

The car continued to drive erratically until it came to an abrupt stop when the car was driven into a ditch on Stud Road, Dandenong.

Three males ran from the car with police quickly arresting all three, aged 16.

The trio, all from Cranbourne, have been charged with various offences, including fail to stop on police request, theft of motor vehicle, various driving and drug offences.
