Trio Arrested After Extended Follow

Police have arrested three girls following an extended follow in the southern and eastern suburbs this morning.

Officers spotted an allegedly stolen hatch near the Nepean Highway in the Bayside area about 12.30am.

Observations were kept on the vehicle as it travelled to the Dingley Bypass to Springvale Road and then used the major arterials in the area including Eastlink, Princes Highway and the Monash Freeway.

The car eventually exited at Warragul Road and police were able to successfully deploy vehicle immobilisation devices on Dandenong Road, East Malvern.

The car eventually came to a stop on Waverley Road near Forster Road and the girls were taken into custody.

A 12-year-old girl, a 13-year-old girl and a 16-year-old girl are currently assisting police with their enquires.

The investigation remains on going and investigators are trying to establish if the vehicle is linked to any other recent offending in the area.
